ELECTRONIC TIGHTNESS TANK TESTS

In order to look for leaks in a SASC (Fuel Underground Storage System), Appraisal uses technology of Alert Technology (USA) and the standards of EPA (Environment Protection Agency - USA), based on which it is possible to detect minor leaks, thus avoiding contamination of the environment.

As per Resolution 273 of Conama (Brazilian Council of the Environment), this test is mandatory for all SACs.

EMERGENCY SERVICE TEAM (EPAE)

An emergency team is a must for fuel stations, industrial facilities and carriers of chemical products, in order to rapidly respond to accidents, before serious damage to the environment occurs. With 21 teams throughout the country, SOS Appraisal Cotec, a subsidiary of Appraisal Avalia��es e Engenharia, has the best and major emergency service structure in Brazil, set up based on its own experience and transfer of technology from Boots & Coots (USA).

Resolution 273 of Conama (Brazilian Council of the Environment) requires an EPAE contract for all SACs.

ADEQUATE DISPOSAL OF RESIDUES

Industrial facilities and fuel stations generate hazardous residues that must be collected, moved and disposed of, in accordance with stringent environmental regulations.

Appraisal renders this service required by Resolution 273 of Conama (Brazilian Council of the Environment) and as per standard NBR 10.004, classes II and III.

Appraisal team is well acquainted with the handling of solid residues. At present, the Brazilian Congress is discussing a bill developed to change the existing situation in Brazil, where just 22% of solid residues are adequately handled.

INSPECTION & RECOVERY OF POLLUTED AREAS

An area suspected of being contaminated must be checked and the potential impact must be assessed, before recovery actions can be implemented.

Appraisal uses cutting-edge technology to recover polluted areas and determine the "environmental liabilities". As per Brazilian applicable law, damage to the environment is treated as corporate liabilities.

ENVIRONMENTAL LICENSES

As per Resolution 273 of Conama (Brazilian Council of the Environment), all SACs and SAACs (Fuel Underground & Aerial Storage Systems) must be licensed by the State Environment Agency. Such systems exist in fuel stations, industrial facilities and companies that need local fuel supply.
